I think during the day from 11am when the place opens until late afternoon you’ll see a mix of guys including middle aged ones. There’s no set day though when you might have more guys than others, it’s just whoever is in on the day. I don’t think you’ll feel out of place whichever day you go on. When I went for the first time, I felt at ease straight away, it’s a very relaxed environment and there are no expectations on you, you can just quietly mooch about and get a feel for the place, get used to the layout. Might be difficult for you to find someone who would escort you in but I wouldn’t worry, you’ll be ok. The staff are very friendly and will explain things to you if you have any questions. I suspect a lot of guys will visit their local sexual health clinic every three months to be screened and vaccinated and to collect a 3 month supply of Prep which protects against HIV so that’s a safety barrier if having unprotected sex but there’s still a risk of catching various STIs the same as if having sex with someone you’ve met on a night out I suppose.

Push through the first door then there’s another door which you’ll be buzzed through. Then pay your entrance fee, the guy will ask if you want a large or medium towel, I would recommend medium. You’ll also be given a locker key, you can stay as long as you like. Go through the next door and you’ll see the changing area and lockers. Get changed, put your stuff in your locker then explore. Three floors with different rooms and facilities. When I’ve been, there have been a mixture of guys and you’ll no doubt see older gents. Have fun.
I really shouldn’t laugh but this thread has me chuckling to myself. I agree, there are regular posts from guys saying they were going to go but just couldn’t go through with it and then ‘I wished I’d gone now because it sounds like I would have had fun etc’. It’s 2025, we live in a tolerant country, it’s only a sauna, it only has gay men there, you don’t need to have any contact with anyone if you don’t want to, it’s not the most difficult challenge you’ll face in your life to go through a door, pay an entrance fee, use the facilities for an hour or so then get changed and leave, I’m sure there are more stressful events you’ve had to go through in life than this and nobody gives a fcuk while you’re at home thinking about doing something you really want to do, they’re out there enjoying themselves.
I don’t think anyone cares unless it’s in the cafĂ© area maybe where it’s expected you wear a towel. Go for it.

deebee37 please don’t take anything I say as gospel as I’m a newbie to Number 52 myself, I’m just going off what I’ve experienced so far but what I would say, as friendly as the guys are on here, you’ll find the same at the sauna and anyone who might be feeling nervous because it’s their first time, go with the mindset that you will be completely left alone to blend into the background and get a sense of the place for yourself if that’s what you want to do 🙂
Joe, there are condoms in wall mounted troughs you’ll see dotted around the place and in private rooms I think there are lube dispensers on the walls too. I’m not sure about walking around naked. Each time I have been, everyone has had a towel wrapped around them. Obviously it can come off in various areas but for moving around the place, people wear a towel, I think that might be expected. There is a dare to bare evening event advertised on this website which is when you can go fully naked within those times.
Thanks TheRimmer and RandyMan, I haven’t been many times and I was going completely off memory and trying to visualise a walk-through in my mind but put me in there and I’ll still probably make lots of wrong turns and end up not knowing where I’m going so it would be the blind leading the blind! lol You can meet some really great guys there. I think on my second or third visit I met a guy in the cinema room and we ended up in a private room cuddling and kissing of all things haha I hope I see him again some time, he was lovely.
Part of the fun in going for the first time is exploring the place. If my memory serves me right though, on the ground floor, there’s the reception area and then when they buzz you in, it opens out into the locker and changing area and through from there is the jacuzzi, some showers and some toilets. There’s also a steam room round a corner bit with more showers and a cafĂ© through a doorway. You’ll also see seem stairs which lead up to the first floor.
On the first floor is the sauna with a shower and a toilet next to it. The sauna is not huge but you could probably get ten guys in there but when I’ve been in, there have never been that many all at the same time. Along from the sauna are a row of private rooms and a lounge area with sofas and the tv on for chilling out in.
Then you go through a door to the cruising areas and it’s darker through there. To the right under a staircase is the bisexual cinema room which is quite small, enough for four people maximum I’d say. The staircase leads to the third floor but past that you’ll come to a room which has a gloryhole area and round some screened off part a large leather cushion and a sling.
Back out and past there and round a corner is another room with a large leather bed / cushion and what are called Czech gloryholes and I think there’s a cross with straps on it on the wall too. Round from there is another staircase down which will bring you back down to the locker area through another door and on the way down, I think there’s a cottage cruising toilet with urinals in, I have seen it somewhere but I haven’t been down that staircase a lot.
Going up to the third floor from the staircase near the bisex cinema room, is a toilet and then a larger cinema room and then there’s a corridor of more private rooms through another door and a room which has another sling. Each of the private rooms have tvs playing porn and leather seats to sit or lay down on and there are lube dispensers and condoms available.
Back down on the ground floor are the for hire rooms in their own locked corridor near the main reception. I’ve not hired one myself but I have been in one and they’re comfortable, nice bed, fresh sheets, I think there was a tv, a side unit, not en suite but of course you can use all of the facilities in the place.
I like to chill out in the sauna when I first get there as it’s nice to get warm and relaxed and it’s lovely but not too hot where it becomes uncomfortable. I then just mooch around, go up to the cinema room, look around the cruising areas, see if I like anyone and they like me. I sometimes try the steam room but it gets very hot so I can only manage a short amount of time in there and then I’ll be back in the sauna where it feels so nice and soothing and of course I try not to be distracted by any hot guys lol.
I think this is more or less an accurate overview but I might have some information slightly wrong, I’m sure someone else can add to that. Hope this helps a bit and enjoy your stay when you go there.
I’m not sure there are any codes, from my few visits to the sauna, it has been more about reading the other person’s body language and they might also say what they like.
I went to the sauna for the first time a few months ago and I’ve been a couple of times since. I found everyone really chilled out and the staff are so friendly too, the vibe of the place is very relaxed. I mooched around the three floors and I’d say it will probably take a few visits to familiarise yourself with the layout. You could spend a good few hours just chilling if you wanted to, if any guys take a shine to you, they might gently put their hand on your leg say if you’re relaxing in the sauna for example, if you’re not interested, a polite “I’m just chilling today” or something along those lines will do. The odd person might need it spelling out a bit more but they’re few and far between and in no way do you feel pressurised to engage in anything you don’t feel like doing. You can do the same if you like the look of someone, eye contact, smile, gently stroke their leg and you’ll easily work out if it’s going to be reciprocated. Some guys who you’re having a bit of fun with might ask you if you want to go to a private room and there are plenty of those to go around, others having fun together might give you a sign to join in if you want. It’s just so easy to go with the flow. At reception after you’ve paid your entrance fee, they’ll ask if you want a large or medium sized towel, I prefer the medium, the large is a bit too big. When you leave, there’s a shoot in the lockers area to put your towel into. I take flip flop type shower shoes too and I have a bottle of water which I keep in my locker as the heat in the sauna can make you quite thirsty although there is a cafĂ© in there too. If you need to know where anything is, just ask one of the other guys in there and they’ll happily direct you. There are private rooms which you can book out through a locked door just after you leave the entrance section but I’ve never used one of those, details will be on this website as well as passes where you can come and go. It does spoil things a bit because I felt that I couldn’t mingle with other guys because of being pursued by someone who should have got the clear message to leave me be and go and find someone else. I’m flattered by any attention, I’m no young spring chicken and I don’t think I’m god’s gift either and I love a horny time which is one of the main reasons for going but I would never go back to someone who clearly indicated to me that they weren’t interested in me so what is it with some guys, seriously, chill out and find someone whose type you are, I’m sure that’s not difficult to do.
