I found the whole sauna was clean including this area. Maybe the heated floors in the winter helps. They’re part way down one of the stair cases.

Agree with the OP about the thought that’s gone into the 52 Cottage. A lot of the younger generation don’t realise that at one time this was all there was for meet ups.
